Outline
This half day session will provide a practical guide to the huge impact on safeguarding best practice that the new legislation will have. There will be clear explanation about the recommendations of Sunita Mason’s criminal record regime review, and the VBS reviews. These are translated into the changes that the Protection of Freedoms Bill will legislate for, along with other policy adjustments following recent cases. It will also demonstrate how the CRB are already tightening up their procedures relating to eligibility for disclosures and the sanctions that could start to be imposed. In addition an understanding of how regulated activity is likely to be re-defined will help you review your organisation’s safeguarding policies and plan the action steps you can take. This briefing event will therefore help you understand the costs and impact on your organisation.
